While he regretted the "0-16" comment, Gipson stood by the others and several Browns felt he went too far. But it was clear they'd been heard loud and clear.
"They're good players, but every week you play good players", Bitonio said.
The Jaguars won't be taking Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer lightly this week. Gipson said he wasn't being disrespectful, but his words were topic in Cleveland locker room all week. "You can take those records and throw them out the window". By overcoming injuries and some self-inflicted mistakes, and with a seemingly favorable schedule remaining, they've positioned themselves for their first postseason appearance since 2007.
Rookie safety Jabrill Peppers agrees.
He didn't back down from his shots at the front office, which is led by head of football operations Sashi Brown.
The Browns are an easy target, and he took aim. Predictably, this doesn't sit well with the Browns, an outfit that is 1-24 under coach Hue Jackson.
"The great thing about Blake is he after being hit and rushed that many times can keep his composure, and continue to keep doing it", Hackett said.
"Once we can get it him to that point, that's when it's going to step it up even more".
Coach Doug Marrone addressed the issue with the Jaguars, telling them to focus inward.

"Another opportunity against a good football team". We want to win. "He can say he feels for guys like me".
The losing started well before Jackson arrived. The Browns just gave up 38 in Detroit.
"This is my team. The best team wins", Kirksey told reporters.
Kirksey and Gipson talked Tuesday, and Kirksey said he didn't take the comments personally. "The best man wins. We just know we're going to face a good quarterback". People say things all the time. I don't know him personally.
Through the first two months of the 2017 season, the Browns are 0-9. He turned out to be right five losses later when they won on Christmas Eve.
"I'm hoping that it might be chippy", he said. "Same situation, same mentality". He has been coaching for 31 years, the last 17 in the NFL.
Njoku wasn't here last season but is determined not to let 0-16 happen.
"I love the smack talk".
Kirksey is close with Gipson and expects Sunday's game, now fueled by some serious trash talk, to "be a fistfight". That's just how I grew up.
